That’s where the Lucas Oil Regional Off Road Series comes in. With three divisions, based in Arizona, Southern California and Utah, the Regional Series conducts its events mostly on the same tracks at which the professional series races, such as Glen Helen Raceway and Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park in Southern California, Speedworld Off Road Park and Firebird International Raceway in the Phoenix area, and Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah.

Off-road racing would almost be unrecognizable without the various types of buggy classes. They range from small, Limited Buggy size to the mega-horsepower of a Class 1. With such a broad size range, John Cooley of Alumi Craft has provided off-road cars for some of the biggest names in racing and continues to cater to all the buggy classes in the Southern California Lucas Oil Regional Off Road Series. Many racers can remember their first off-road vehicle. The bruises that came with them, the lessons learned, but mostly they remember all of the fun. A 70cc dirt bike was my off-road debut but nothing can be compared to the newer generations and their karts. The karts are quick, nimble, and even defy the basic laws of crashing; something former off-road kids would have drooled over. The Lucas Oil Regional Off Road Series brings the upcoming kings and queens of off-road racing to duke it out in the Junior 2 class among other Kart classes, on the same courses as their favorite professional drivers.

The SuperLite Championship launches a robust win purse for the 2012 Lucas Oil Regional Off Road Series Southern California Round 2 race at Glen Helen Raceway this Saturday. The $3,300 cash purse will divide up among the top three positions for the main event with $2,500 going to the winner, $500 to second, and $300 to third. The two-day SuperLite Arrive & Drive package, which delivers a full-service race experience to racers and cross over athletes alike, includes a full day of track testing on Friday followed by qualifying, heat and the main event racing Saturday.
