-Tell us about your racing background and how you ended up at the Lucas Oil Regional Series:
Started racing 14 years ago at the first CORR race in Antelope Valley. Before that I raced Desert Buggy and motocross. Been racing for over 40 years.
-Family seems to play a big role on most regional teams and we see your family at the track with you at every round. How important is your family to your success and what roles do each of them play on race weekends?
Family is of great importance not only at the races but at home. It takes a lot of time to build and prep a car and this is time away from the family. That is why you need to involve them in the sport. Plus they are your best cheering section.
-What is your favorite track and why?
My favorite track was Chula Vista and Elsinore but Lee has done a great job on our two tracks. Victorville is a lot of fun.
-When you're not at the track, what can we find you doing?
When I am not racing you will find me working at the Spaceship Company in Mojave helping to build Spaceship Two under Virgin Galactic helping to bring passengers to space.
-What/who is your biggest challenge on the track?
The biggest challenge at the track is staying ahead of the youthful drivers. At 66 it is a real challenge.
-Any goals for the next few years or beyond?
My goal this year is to win the points championship for the 4th time but as of writing this article it may be a challenge. I just broke my collar bone mountain bike riding and just had surgery to install a plate. My doctor says don't pick up anything more than a coffee cup for six weeks so we will see.
-We know it takes a lot of support to race and you seem to be backed by some great companies. Is there anyone you would like to thank for their support?
Just like to Thank Lucas Oil, Lee and Poppy Perfect and especially all our sponsors. General Tires has been great with all their support.
