Tell us about your racing background and what brought you to the Lucas Oil Regional Series: Well, I use to watch my Dad and Karl Scanlan race in the desert for years, and I thought I’d give it a go. With no racing experience, I started in the J1 Kart class in the Lucas Oil Regional Series when I was 8 years old.

When you’re not at the track, what can we find you doing?
I spend a lot of time at the river boating and jet skiing with my family and friends and riding my bike with friends. When I’m really bored, I’ll go to work with my Dad at CBR Performance Products and help out.

Family and friends play a big role on most regional teams.  How important are your family/friends to your success and what role do each of them play on race weekends?
My family plays a huge role in my racing and success. They are my crew. My Dad and brother do all the prep on my kart at home and at the track and spot for me. My Mom cleans all the driving gear and gets the motorhome ready for the weekend.

Who is a driver you look up to and why?
I look up to Kyle Leduc because he is super smooth, fast and likes to whip it in the corners. I hope to be like him someday.

What/who is your biggest challenge on the track?
The biggest challenge I face on the track is ME. I put a lot of pressure on myself to stay patient, focused and positive, so I can be a front runner.
My biggest competitor is Bronson Chiaramonte. He is fast and always runs out front.

Take us through a typical weekend at the track with your team. How does it work for you?
We normally get to the track the day of racing because my Dad has to work on Friday. My family sets up the pit area and gets ready for qualifying and racing.

Any goals for the next few years and beyond?
My goal this year is to win the J2 championship. I’m currently practicing in my mod kart and plan to race Crandon in September. In 2017, I will be full time in the Mod Kart in both series and my goal is to finish in the top 5 and get Rookie of the Year.

We know it takes a lot of support to race and you seem to be backed by some great companies. Is there anyone you would like to thank for their support?
I would like to thank CBR Performance Products, Doug Fleming Racing Engines, Rugged Radios, Karl Scanlan, CMI, Chuck Cheek, MK Motorsports, Pro Circuit and my Mom and Dad for all their support in 2016.
