Tell us about your racing background and how you ended up at the Lucas Oil Regional Series: I started racing karts on pavement when I was 5 years old and started racing Outlaw karts on dirt when I was 13. My dad accidentally bought a midget on Ebay (at least that is what he told my mom), so at 14 I started racing it around Northern California. At 16 we sold the midget and bought a 360 Sprint Car. We raced that for 4 years and had a lot of fun. We saw Short course off road on TV and wanted to check it out. We went to our first race in Lake Elsinore in 2014 right before I went into the Fire Academy. While I was in the fire academy we sold the Sprint car stuff and started looking around. We met Jason and Corry Weller and bought an SR1 in 2015.

Family seems to play a big role on most regional teams. How important is your family to your success and what roles do each of them play on race weekends? My Grandma and grandpa have never missed a race. My dad is my spotter and crew chief and my mom comes to the races when our business is not too crazy for her to get away.

What is your advice to someone looking to start out in short course off road racing? Attend a regional race. Ask questions, lots of questions. The people that race in this series are eager to answer questions.

How does a typical day at the track look for you? Walk us through your day: Starts out with my grandpa’s famous breakfast, then we go over the car and make sure it’s ready. Next we go on to qualifying and then have a nice break before the races.

When you’re not at the track, what can we find you doing? I am a volunteer fire fighter and I work on an ambulance between weekends.

The Sr1 class is definitely a fast group. Who is your biggest competition on the track? Everyone! The class is getting so fast, but the awesome thing is this: they want to beat you on the track and not in the pits.

Any goals for the next few years or beyond? If we can find some more sponsors we would love to race a Pro Lite.

We know it takes a lot of support to race and you seem to be backed by some great companies. Is there anyone you would like to thank for their support? MotoWear International and DANOC Manufacturing. They are our main sponsors. If you need a driving suit or crew shirts please give them a call. Tell my mom I sent you. Also the support we get from Weller Racing is awesome.
